Clarence Leander Winter was born on July 26, 1945 in Detroit Lakes, MN he passed away on July 10, 2023. He was born to Rose (Thelen) and Clarence Winter and grew up in rural Waubun, MN. He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Schoenborn), children Sheila (Jayson) Fultz of Tracy, MN and Brian (Jessica) of Cedarburg, WI. His grandchildren Brianna (Josh), Nathan, Elizabeth, Joshua and Maddy. One brother and 3 sisters, many in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Even more friends, co-workers and acquaintances.He served our country in the United States Army, serving mostly in Germany. He worked most of his life in IT at Honeywell and Northwest Airlines, refereed many soccer games, worked at various part time jobs and different volunteer opportunities in his retirement. If we could learn one thing from his example it would be to help whenever you are able wherever it is needed.A mass of Christian burial will be held on July 18 at 11:30 am at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville, MN. Visitation will be at 10 am preceding the mass. Internment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the American Cancer Society or to www.cdceportal.va.gov/donate_online, choose Minnesota and then select facility Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
