Clarence “Cal” Leith, age 78 of Lower Sioux Community, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Olivia Heath Care Center due to complications from Covid-19. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 17 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with a Facebook Live Feed at Stephens Funeral Service Facebook Page. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Morton Cemetery. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK and practice social distancing guidelines. A 50% indoor occupancy restriction will be maintained. Clarence “Cal” Albert Leith Jr. was born October 23, 1942 to Clarence Albert and Ariella (DeGroat) Leith Sr. in Pipestone, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Bishop Whipple Mission – St. Cornelia’s Church. Cal graduated from Morton High School in 1960. After graduating he joined the army and was later honorably discharged. While he served in the army, he was an Amateur boxer. In 1967, Cal married Roberta Helen Haigh in Wayzata. Cal attended barber school and then opened his own business in Wayzata. He was a member of the Wayzata American Legion. Cal later returned to his home community in Morton, where he worked for the casino as a tribal representative. Cal was a licensed pilot and loved flying. He enjoyed travelling to Arizona and you could often find him working on his cars. Cal loved watching westerns and listening to old country music.
Clarence is survived by his children: Kelly Prescott and his mother Sarah Prescott of Morton and Kelly Leith (special friend Liz Simard) of Redwood Falls; siblings: Audrey (Francis) Haas of Morton; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three nieces; and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother TJ Leith, and sister Yvonne Ostermeier.
