MARSHALL (KMHL) – The city of Marshall announced yesterday that it plans to open the community’s aquatic center by Fathers’ Day weekend.

Marshall Mayor Bob Byrnes said there are a number of things that need to be done for that to happen, but that is their goal.

“We’re planning that by Father’s Day weekend that it would be open,” said Byrnes. “Our staff will put into place protocols that will be publicized hopefully early next week, as to how that operation is going to go.”

Byrnes said there will be limitations though on the size of gatherings that can take place at the aquatic center – noting that it will be less than the governor’s order of 50 percent capacity.
