The City of Marshall was awarded $20,000 for winning the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (SMAC) Art Legacy Project Grant. In honor of Marshall’s 150th anniversary, the funds will be dedicated to a large-scale art piece including a metal sculpture with mosaic murals bringing people together to work alongside the artist, Tamara Isfeld.
Independence Park was chosen as the location for the 150th community art piece becoming an iconic element within the city and tribute to all residents of this area including past, present, and future.
Opportunities for the community to be involved in the creation of this art piece throughout the duration of the 150th anniversary celebration season.
