MARSHALL — The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is one week into the bridge resurfacing project on Highway 23 north of Marshall, spanning across the Redwood River and Threemile Creek near Green Valley.

Last week, crews removed the low slumps from the bridge decks and dismantled the existing guardrails. This week, they are focused on removing the approach panels and beginning deck repairs. Construction will pause at noon on Friday in observance of the upcoming holiday weekend.

The project, which started on Monday, May 12, includes resurfacing the bridge decks, replacing approach panels, and installing new guardrails. A detour is in place, directing traffic to Highway 19 and County Road 9 for the duration of the work.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and follow posted detour signs.
