Bodell Katherine Andersen was born on August 18, 1937, to Niels Christian and Gladys Luella (Flyger) Andersen in Ruthton, Minnesota. She was raised and attended school there, graduating from Ruthton High School in 1955. Bodell furthered her education at McKennan Nursing School and graduated as a registered nurse in 1958. She continued her career as a nurse until her retirement in 2007. On Monday, October 5, 2020, Bodell died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 83 years, one month, and 18 days. Bodell fellowshipped with the believers of Shorewood Bible Church in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting, quilting and baking. Bodell loved spending time with her family. She blessed them using her talents making quilts, blankets, afghans, and embroidered kitchen towels. She made every family member feel special. She remembered every birthday and anniversary with cards. She always made sure there was plenty of food whenever we gathered or someone stopped by to visit. She knew everyone’s favorite dish and made sure to provide it when they came. Most importantly, she understood her salvation and the fact that her sins were covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. Her prayer was that her family and friends would also come to understand this.
