Mass of Christian Burial for Betty Mae Feda, 90, of Marshall, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall.  Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall.  Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Betty Mae Feda was born June 7, 1929 in Belle River, MN, to Valentine and Mary (Fanning) Muyres. She attended grade school in Carlos, MN, and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1947. She received an RN degree at the St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing in 1950.  On August 29, 1950, she was married to John J. Feda at St. Nicholas Church in Belle River. They raised a family of 6 children.

She worked as a nurse in Alexandria, Shakopee and Marshall.  Her practice spanned hospital nursing, private duty, public health, and residential facility nursing at REM in Marshall.  She was an avid sewer, meticulous with crafts and creative hobbies. She and John loved to travel, play bridge, golf and dance.  She enjoyed needlework, theater, reading and gardening. An annual tradition for 30 years was a week at the Carlos Villas, sharing Minnesota summers with family and friends. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and a kind, patient and gentle soul.  She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Daughters, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Betty died Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, son James, daughter Jeannine, and two brothers Merl and Melvin.  Her survivors include sons Thomas (Susan) of Salt Lake City, UT, and John B. (Mary) of LaVista, NE; daughters Mary (Frank) Lambert of Woodbury, and Beth (Steve) Ritter of Marshall; grandchildren Kent (Nicole) Feda, Cody Feda, Chris Ritter, Kelly (Quentin) Brunsvold, Nick (Alyssa) Ritter, Kristin (Chad) VanHeel, Jason Lambert, Jeremy Lambert, Jennifer (Matt) Davis, Bill (Erin) Harper, and Catherine (Andrew) Sciba; great-grandchildren Cade Ritter; Libby, Jack and Addy Feda; Chase, Max and Easton VanHeel; Croix and Estelle Ritter; Kollins, Corbin and Jude Brunsvold; Madeline, Felicity, Sophia, John, Emma, Abigail, James and Peter Davis; Bill, Reid, Jackson, Blake, Max and Elle Harper; and Liam, Thomas, Peter, Jane and Eamon Sciba; brother-in-law Gerry Feda of Glascow, MT; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Holy Redeemer or a charity of the donor’s choice.
