Minneapolis, MN — Vermont Senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will visit Minnesota this weekend for a town hall meeting and a get-out-the-vote rally. The town hall will take place Friday night at 6 PM at Minnesota State University Mankato. However, Rachel Bohman, the Democratic candidate for the U.S. House in the 1st District, will not attend due to a family commitment, according to her campaign. Analysts generally view Bohman as an underdog against incumbent Republican Congressman Brad Finstad.

On Saturday at noon, Sanders will be at Edison High School in northeast Minneapolis, where he will rally alongside 5th District Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Senator Tina Smith. Omar faces a rematch in next month’s Democratic primary against Don Samuels, a former Minneapolis city councilmember who came within two points of defeating her two years ago.
