ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has identified two St. Paul Police Department officers involved in a use-of-force incident in Belle Plaine on Thursday morning. Officers Aaron Bohlen, a 10-year law enforcement veteran, and Lance Christianson, with 20 years of service, discharged their firearms during the confrontation and are currently on standard critical incident leave.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that Seantrell Tyreese Murdock, 29, of Belle Plaine, died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in the incident. He was being sought in connection with a St. Paul homicide investigation when officers approached him near South Chestnut and East Prairie streets. During the confrontation, both officers fired at Murdock, striking him.

After being treated on the scene, Murdock was airlifted to HCMC in Minneapolis, where he later died from his injuries. A handgun was recovered at the scene. Body camera footage captured parts of the incident, and the BCA’s investigation is ongoing. Once complete, findings will be sent to the Scott County Attorney’s Office for review.
