Barbara Kay Nemmers of Marshall, MN passed away peacefully Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the age of 72. A celebration of life will be held at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, MN on Friday, August 2, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bird Island, MN following the celebration of life. The Horvath Funeral Service in Marshall is handling the arrangements.
Born in Olivia, MN on February 19, 1952 to George and Elaine Nemmers, Barb grew up in Bird Island, MN. At the age of 6 months Barb was stricken with Polio that paralyzed her right leg. In 1961 she moved to Appleton, MN where she attended and graduated from Appleton High School with the class of 1970. In 1994, Barb and her mother moved to Marshall, MN. In 2013, after Barb’s mother and brother Bob passed away, Barb entered the Clarkfield Care Center where she remained until her death.
Barb is survived by her sister Judy (Jim) Johnson; nieces Erica Johnson, Jennifer (Josh) Tormoren; nephews Scott Nemmers, Brian (Kelsie) Nemmers; sister-in-law Kathy Nemmers. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Elaine, and her brothers Tommy and Bob.
