MARSHALL – A Balaton man was sentenced to five years’ probation for possessing pornography involving minors, according to Lyon County court documents. 32-year-old Anthony James Jandl appeared at a sentencing hearing in Lyon County District Court on Tuesday, May 16th.

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement officials received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in February 2022. A cloud storage service had flagged images in an account linked to Jandl’s cell phone. Detectives were able to locate and extract the pornographic images from the phone, according to the complaint.

Jandl pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing pornographic work involving minors in March. During his hearing, Jandl received a stayed prison sentence, a total of $2,000 in fines, and five years’ supervised probation. The probation conditions for Jandl include serving 90 days in jail and having no unsupervised contact with minors. Jandl must comply with all predatory offender registration requirements.
