Alice attended elementary school in rural District 59 and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1940. She was a crossword puzzle whiz, expert word finder, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and bingo. Alice also enjoyed gardening, canning (especially grape jelly from grapes grown on the farm), baking, and working side by side with Art on the farm and in the dairy barn. She was active in her church, serving the Church Council, Ladies Aid, Sunday School, and Confirmation. She also was a 4-H Leader, participated in Women’s Extension groups, and attended many of her children and grandchildren’s school and church activities.  Alice always showed much love and helpfulness to her family and friends!
