CURRIE (KMHL) – A 22-year-old Adrian man was killed when a boat he was a passenger on was involved in an accident with a fishing boat on Lake Shetek.
The Murray County Sheriff’s office says Logan Nelson, of Adrian, was one of 11 occupants on the pleasure boat involved in the crash. Authorities say he was thrown from the boat during the collision, which occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday.
A search was conducted Saturday evening, but called off late in the night. It resumed early Sunday morning, and Nelson’s body was discovered shortly before noon. Two other passengers on the boat were taken to area hospitals.
The driver of the fishing boat was that boat’s only occupant.
