MARSHALL – Action Trackchair, created by Action Manufacturing, a family-owned company based in Marshall, Minnesota, is among the top 64 products competing in the inaugural “Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota” contest, organized by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and BMO. The contest, which highlights manufacturing innovation across the state, invites the public to vote in a head-to-head bracket-style tournament until October 4.

Founded 15 years ago by Tim Swenson and now owned by his son Jim, Action Manufacturing is dedicated to enhancing mobility and enabling outdoor recreation for individuals with mobility challenges. The company’s flagship product, the Action Trackchair, is an all-terrain wheelchair designed to navigate through sand, mud, snow, and water, offering users unparalleled freedom to explore the outdoors.

The Action Trackchair tackles a Minnesota state park trail.

“We’re excited to be one of the 64 products named to the inaugural 64 Coolest Things Made in Minnesota,” said Adam Henning, Marketing Manager for Action Manufacturing. “We’re asking the community and surrounding area to rally around a local business and help vote for Action Trackchair.”

Henning acknowledged the tough competition, noting, “We have quite a tough draw in the first round of 64 versus Fruity Pebbles. We feel like we have a pretty unique and awesome product and an awesome community. It’s an honor and a humbling thing to be a part of this field so hopefully we can do well and advance each round.”

The public can vote for their favorite product starting today, with the winner to be announced at the 2024 Manufacturers’ Summit on October 8.

“It is kind of incredible to see all the cool things that are made right here in Minnesota from 3M, to SPAM, to Fruity Pebbles and the Action Trackchair,” Henning added. “I’m looking forward to the friendly competition.”
