RENVILLE (KMHL) – One man is dead and a 26-year-old male is in custody in Renville County after an apparent shooting that occurred last night in Renville. The Renville County Sheriff’s office said it received a call around 10:15 Thursday night that a man had been shot in Renville.
Emergency responders attempted life saving measures, but the male victim was pronounced dead.
According to a press release, sheriff’s officials say officers took a 26-year-old male into custody related to the shooting, and that individual is being held in the Renville County Jail in Olivia pending formal charges.
Sheriff’s officials say they believe the victim and suspect knew each other and this was an isolated incident.
Authorities have not identified either the victim or the male being held at this time. The case remains under investigation with the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
