The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce has named Doug Stang as its next president and CEO. He will take over December 1, succeeding Doug Loon, who announced his retirement earlier this year after leading the organization since 2015.
Stang brings more than 20 years of experience in business and government affairs. He most recently led federal and state government affairs at LegalZoom and previously spent 15 years directing state government affairs at 3M.
He also served four terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives, including as assistant majority leader, and was deputy commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health. Stang previously served on the Minnesota Chamber’s Board of Directors.
Stang said he plans to build on the organization’s work representing Minnesota employers and improving the state’s business climate.
The Chamber represents more than 6,300 businesses and more than 500,000 employees across Minnesota. Under Loon’s leadership, the organization expanded its advocacy efforts and developed economic research and workforce programs through the Minnesota Chamber Foundation.
