On Monday, 04/18/2022 at approximately 1:31 PM, EMS and other Lyon County Public Safety Services were dispatched to a rural Lynd residence for a report in which a firearm had reportedly discharged striking an individual in the head.
Upon arrival, a 9yo juvenile female was located suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her head. Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the female was air-lifted from the scene.
The extent of injury and condition of the female at the time of report is unknown.
The circumstances surrounding this matter are under investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
There are no public safety concerns regarding this incident or ongoing investigation.
