Dennis Paul Fennern, age 85 of Lucan, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020.  Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan.  Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.  Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.  Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK and practice social distancing guidelines. State leaders: Do not open unsolicited seeds that arrive in the mail

UNDATED (KMHL) – Minnesota leaders are warning Minnesotans not to open a packet of seeds that arrive in the mail if they didn’t order one. Health leaders say they’re getting reports from people around the state and in neighboring Iowa about unsolicited seeds showing up in the mail from China and other countries. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture wants anyone who receives the seeds to contact them. Seventh District Minnesota Congressman, Rep. Deaths, ICU usage remain low as positive COVID-19 tests increase

ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD) -- For the 24th straight day the Minnesota Department of Health attributed fewer than ten deaths to COVID-19. Sunday M-D-H reported three deaths they say were related to the virus. As of Sunday, 115 people were in the intensive care units across the state with a case of COVID-19. Total I-C-U numbers have dropped more than 56-percent from peak usage in May. M-D-H did report 871 more positive COVID-19 tests, on a day when there were more than 16-thousand tests completed in the state.

ATV rider killed in Redwood County accident

WABASSO (KMHL) – An ATV rider was killed in a crash in Redwood County Saturday afternoon. The Redwood County Sheriff’s office says the crash occurred just before 1 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of County Highway 6 and 230th Street. Authorities say the Polaris Ranger over turned after it was struck by a Dodge Durango. The ATV operator’s name is being withheld pending further investigation and notification.

MARSHALL (KMHL) – A shocking video of a couple wearing Nazi swastika face masks in the Marshall Wal-Mart on Saturday has gone viral and created quite the stir around the community over the weekend. In the video, the couple, who is not identified, is seen wearing the Nazi symbol as a protest to the recently enacted executive order forcing Minnesotans to wear facemasks at indoor public places. Nurses frustrated with staffing and scheduling at Avera Marshall

MARSHALL (KMHL) – During the COVID-19 pandemic there appears to be an issue between local nurses and Avera Marshall over staffing and scheduling. Local nurses, the Minnesota Nurses Association and the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees unions are upset with Avera Marshall and CEO Mary Maertens regarding scheduling and staffing issues at the hospital. The unions and local nurses jointly sent a letter to Avera CEO Bob Sutton earlier this month expressing their frustrations.
