Rebecca (Becky) Lee Merringer was born on August 22, 1958 to Ruth Ann (Yackel) and Ray Henry Merringer in Hinsdale, IL.  Her family moved to Lamberton in 1963.  She attended Lamberton Public School graduating in 1976 and then went on to attend college at MN West and Ridgewater Colleges.  Becky took much pride in caring for others with most of her life’s work having to do with the direct care of people.  Becky was a very giving, kind, compassionate person.  She displayed resilience in every aspect of her life.  For these things she will forever be remembered and cherished.  Her hobbies [...]

Court dates set for suspects arrested in Danube drug bust

OLIVIA (KMHL) – A man and woman from Danube will face charges later in September following a drug bust at a home on Highway 212 in that town last week. 45-year-old Michael Voelz, of Danube has been charged with four drug-related offenses his court date has been set for Sept. 17. Marie Letourneau, 32, 0f Danube, is facing three drug charges and a weapons charge. She will appear in court Sept. 23. Authorities seize meth, several guns and an explosive device in Danube bust

DANUBE (KMHL) – A drug bust in Danube turned up more than a pound and a half of methamphetamine, several guns and a homemade explosive device. Authorities with the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Highway 212 in Danube. Authorities say they apprehended a 41-year-old male and a 32-year-old female that lived at the residence. Agents also removed a three-year-old boy from the residence. They called in the Bloomington Bomb Squad to do a controlled detonation of the explosive device.

The funeral service for Luella Peterson, 95, of Marshall, formerly of Russell, will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church in Russell.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will follow at the Lynd Cemetery. Luella died on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.
