Wayne A. Burlingame, age 76, of Canby, MN passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the Sanford Canby Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Canby, with Fr. Craig Timmerman celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Canby. Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. The Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby is entrusted with the arrangements.

Wayne Allen Burlingame was born on November 10, 1942 to Harold and Irene (Hansen) Burlingame in Elkhart, Indiana. He moved with his family back to Canby, Minnesota where he was raised. He graduated from the Canby High School in 1961. Following his education, he worked with his dad and brother doing cement work.

Wayne was united in marriage to Georgia M. Coleman on April 14, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, SD. The couple made their home in Canby, MN where Wayne worked for Frontier as a service repairman for almost 40 years. During this time, they also lived on Lake Cochrane near Gary, South Dakota for 20 years.

Wayne was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby, MN. He was an avid fisherman, loved to hunt and play computer games and watch PGA Golf. Wayne was known to get on his “soap box” and talk politics. He enjoyed all sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and was a fan of high school wrestling. He thoroughly enjoyed his time living at the lake and having his grandkids and kids around.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Georgia Burlingame, Canby, MN; three children: Robbi Antony, Canby, MN, Todd (Mary) Burlingame, Slayton, MN and Darci (Bill) Luepke, Olivia, MN; eight grandchildren: Troy, Kirsten, Trent Antony, Kelsie Pankonen, Amanda Hirman, Kaitlin Burlingame, Jenny Luepke and Samantha Luepke; six great-grandchildren: Tate Heiden, Hadley, Falon and Piper Antony, Adeline and Oliver Hirman; and one brother, Larry (DeDe) Burlingame.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters: Wendi Mari and Jacqueline Irene.
