A Mass of Christian Burial for Walter Max St. Aubin, 69, of Marshall, MN., will take place alongside his mother Maxine St. Aubin on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 10:30a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A public visitation will take place on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, MN. A rosary will begin at 4:00 p.m. and a prayer service will take place at 7:00p.m. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Horvath Remembrance Center. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Marshall, following the funeral mass. 

 Walter Max St. Aubin was born on September 16, 1953, in Marshall, MN to Louis and Maxine (Gruhot) St. Aubin. He grew up on the family farm just south of Marshall, MN. He attended Marshall Public School graduating from Marshall Senior High in 1972. He met and fell in love with Patricia VanHecke. The couple was married at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota, MN on February 4, 1978. Together they had two sons Adam and Peter.  Walter loved his family. He enjoyed playing board and card games with his wife and sons. He was a jokester always trying to bring a smile to the face of his loved ones. He was an expert mechanic and was always tinkering. Walter was a collector with a keen eye for a deal. Walter liked to host garage sales and was an avid outdoorsman.

Walter died on April 17, 2023, at the Avera Morning Side Heights Care Center. 

He is survived by his sons Adam (Laura), Peter (Rita), siblings Judy (David), Leroy (Teena), Linda (Scott), Pat (Steve), Karen, Ken (Sharon), Scott (Karin), father-in-law Francis VanHecke, brothers-in-law Robert VanHecke, Bill VanHecke, Ed VanHecke, and many nieces and nephews.  Walter is preceded in death by his wife Patricia, parents Louis and Maxine, mother-in-law Mary VanHecke, sister-in-law Marlene VanHecke, nephew Brett VanHecke.
