The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2024 was announced last night on “American Idol”.  There are 16 inductees.

In the Performers category we have:  Mary J. Blige . . . Cher . . . Dave Matthews Band . . . Foreigner . . . Peter Frampton . . . Kool & the Gang . . . Ozzy Osbourne . . . and A Tribe Called Quest.

Jimmy Buffett and Dionne Warwick are being recognized for “Musical Excellence”.  Same with MC5 and one of Motown’s creators, Norman Whitfield.

Big Mama Thornton will be inducted in the “Musical Influence” category, along with British blues musicians Alexis Korner and John Mayall.

And the Ahmet Ertegun award will go to Suzanne de Passe.  She’s the first leading female executive in the music business.

The Induction Ceremony will take place October 19th in Cleveland, Ohio.  It will stream live on Disney+.

It’ll be available to stream on Hulu the next day, and will get a special broadcast on ABC at a later date.
