She played, sang, and accompanied soloists at numerous weddings, funerals, school functions and other occasions.  In 2012 she and her family opened The Note Gallery on Main Street in Marshall.  Sue also enjoyed sewing and cake decorating.  She sewed her own wedding dress (including last minute alterations on the way to the church) and operated “Cakes by Sue” in her younger years.  Sue was a woman of faith and loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was especially fond of time spent with her family.  In 2022, Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer.  After successfully completing her treatment and being designated cancer free, she suffered a pulmonary lung illness.  Sue died on Saturday, May 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD due to the lung illness.
