Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond “Ray” Halbur, 81, of Marshall, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall.  Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Raymond John Halbur was born on October 10, 1937, in Iona, MN, to Joseph and Susan (Voss) Halbur.  As a child, he moved with his family to Marshall where he completed his education.  On February 9, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mary Dandurand at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  For ten years, the couple farmed near Lynd.  Next, they moved to a farm south of Marshall on the Amiret Corner of Hwy 59.  In 1999, they moved into Marshall.  Ray loved feeding cattle and typically fed between 500 – 700 head.  The couple also grew corn, soy beans and alfalfa.

Ray died on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at his home in Marshall under the care of Prairie Home Hospice.  He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Marshall, siblings Evelyn Regnier of Enlge Wood, FL, Leonard (and Linda) Halbur of Cave Creek, AZ, Donna (and Rodney) Enga of St. Cloud, JoAnn Petersen of Tracy, Sharon and Darcey Klein of Milroy, Elaine and Timothy Meyer of Minneota, in-laws Jeffery Frahm of Marshall, Armand (and Dianna) Dandurand of Minneota, Margaret Gollmer of Marshall and Mae Dandurand of Marshall.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ellen Frahm and in-laws Gilbert Regnier, Larry Petersen, Melvin Dandurand and Russell Gollmer.
