If you’ve been AMAZED at how delicious a recent “zero sugar” product tastes, there might be a surprising reason for that.
Pepsi is recalling more than 230 cases of Schweppes Zero Sugar Ginger Ale, because it’s actually CHOCK-FULL OF SUGAR.
There was some kind of mix-up, and the product canned as “zero sugar” contained FULL sugar. The recall affects nearly 5,600 cans . . . and it includes products that were shipped to Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Naturally, this is more than just an unexpected sugar high. Some people have medical conditions that make these products dangerous to drink. No injuries or illnesses have been reported. And it’s unclear how they discovered the error.
(The recalled products have a sell-by date of May 2024. There’s more information on the specific codes, here. If you DON’T have a reason to limit your sugar intake, it sounds like they’re safe to drink.)
