Pauline Wiener, age 95, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Monday, February 21, 2022, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota.  Interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.  The evening will begin with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m.  Visitation will then continue one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday, at the church.  Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.

Pauline Alice Wiener was born August 27, 1926, in Stearns County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Paul and Rose (Weedek) Wilcox. Pauline grew up on the family farm near Sauk Centre and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She received her education in Sauk Centre and graduated with the high school class of 1944.  On October 17, 1944, Pauline was united in marriage to Virgil Wiener at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Padua, Minnesota. The couple made their home on his parent’s farm before they ventured to their own farm near Brooten. Pauline and Virgil then moved to Sauk Centre briefly before moving to Ghent, Minnesota, in 1960. The couple then moved to Marshall in 1972 where they raised their family. Pauline worked as a waitress at the local bars in Ghent and at the Tiny Tiger store in Marshall. She soon started a long-time career as the concessions stand supervisor for the Marshall A’s baseball team and later ended her career by helping Darrel at Midwest United Insurance Services as a clerical assistant.  Pauline was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and faithful member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. She was proud to be inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 2016. Her other enjoyments in life included bowling, playing cards, gardening/canning, crocheting, cross stitch, knitting, puzzles, and dancing. Pauline was a huge sports fan and very dedicated to her children and grandchildren, following her sons and grandsons through many sporting events and seasons.

Pauline Wiener died peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2022, in Marshall, Minnesota. She reached the age of 95 years, five months, and 25 days. Blessed and eternal be her memory.

She is survived by her 4 children, Norma (and Greg) Gile of Marshall, Darrel (and Karen) Wiener of Sioux Falls, SD, Dorene (and Jim) Bye of White Bear Lake, Bev Hess of Marshall; 12 grandsons, Scott (and Missy) Gile, Eric (and Cerissa) Gile, Mark (and Laura) Gile, Paul Gile, Mike (and Missy) Wiener, Ben (and Leah) Wiener, Sam (and Sarah) Wiener, Shane (and Molly) Bye, Scott Bye, Luke (and Erica) Hess, Adam (and Noele) Hess, Travis (and Courtney) Williams; 19 great-grandchildren, Logan, Megan, Kaitlin, Bryce, Brianna, Tucker, Norah, Jacob, Teddy, Charles, Madison, Ethan, Caden, Grady, Brielle, Tessa, Gracen, Ella, Peyton (and one more on the way); sister, Leora Barthel of Sauk Centre; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rose Wilcox; husband, Virgil Wiener; children, Cheryl Hankins, Bill Wiener; grandson, Matthew Wiener; and an infant great-grandson.
