Myrene F. Weisel, age 88, of Clear Lake, SD passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake, SD. Memorial service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake, SD. Houseman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Myrene F. Weisel was born in Clear Lake, South Dakota on July 30, 1933 to George and Clarice (Ruesink) Krause. She grew up on a farm in Deuel County and graduated from Clear Lake High School.  On October 5, 1952, Myrene was united in marriage to Vincent Weisel in Clear Lake, SD. They farmed and ranched while residing in Clear Lake until 1983 when they moved to their ranch 16 miles north of town.  Myrene enjoyed being a housewife and mother, working at Tupper Pharmacy and working side by side with her husband on their ranch. Her faith in God was an important part of her life and she served in many areas of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a member.  Myrene’s main joy in life was being with her husband of 60 years. She had a passion for sewing, was an exceptional seamstress and quilter and enjoyed baking. She was a fan of Minnesota Vikings football and SDSU football and basketball. Her Revillo Birthday Group was also special to her.

Myrene is survived by her three daughters: Karna (Gary) Lindner of Clear Lake, Jill (Russell) Larson of White and Lynne (Gordon) Kerley of Queen Creek, AZ; her grandchildren: Michele (Tad) Heitkamp, Brent (Erin) Lindner, Jen (Joe) Frederiksen and Tyler Kerley; great-grandchildren: Peyton (Coby) Ockenga, Aftyn Heitkamp, Landen Lindner, Berkley Lindner, Talon Everding and Tavyn Everding; her sisters: Carol Udesen, Lou Ann Jespersen and Janice Lund.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vince on March 11, 2013 and her brother, Gerald Krause.
