Michael M. Tesch, age 47, of Canby, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his home near Canby. Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby, Minnesota. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Private Family Burial will be in the Canby City Cemetery, Canby, Minnesota.
Mike was born in Canby, MN on January 23, 1974 to Marvin and Myrna (Lueders) Tesch. As a teenager, Mike was active in 4-H and earned many trips to the State Fair with his prized sheep and cattle. He graduated from Canby High School in 1992. After graduation, he worked with his parents at Runnings eventually becoming the Store Manager. Mike’s passion for classical cinema and everything movies lead him to the Canby Theater. With the help of the local community, he was able to revive the theater which was then voted the best movie theater in Minnesota by WCCO. Mike’s generosity and kindness in the community of Canby was widely known and will be greatly missed.
He is survived in death by his mother Myrna Tesch , Canby MN; sister Michelle (Tom) Ries, Sioux Falls SD; sister Monica (Rick) DeBlois, St. Peter MN; neice Annie (Ryan) Mercer, Walton, KY; nephew Colton (Tina) DeBlois, Hiram, GA; nephew Andrew (Amanada) Ries, Watertown, SD. Great niece and nephews Alex, Ethan, Amelia, Avery, and Wyatt as well as many cousins.
