Maryann (Blanchard) Kennedy was born on September 15, 1932, in Grafton, ND, to Harold and Ann (Egland) Blanchard. She grew up in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School. In 1952, she was united in marriage to Paul Kennedy. Maryann attended nurse’s training in Grand Forks, with clinicals in Minneapolis. The couple moved to Marshall in 1964 when Paul was transferred there with the S&L Department Store. Maryann worked as a registered nurse for Weiner Memorial, retiring in 1987 after many years as the director of surgical services.

Maryann was a kind and generous woman. She was the “neighborhood mom” whose door was always open, no matter the day or time. She enjoyed collecting things from antique shops, auctions, and flea markets with Paul. She donated to the Ronald McDonald House through her collection of PEZ dispensers. Maryann also kept an impressive vegetable and flower garden. She was very family-oriented, and she relished time spent with family.

She is survived by her children Debbie (Mike) Lee of Redfield, SD, Doug (Janelle) of Madison, Michael (JoAnne) of Coon Rapids, Kevin of Buford, GA, and Brian (Glenda) of Madison; grandchildren Lora (Matt), Holly, Paul, Stephanie, Steven, Mary (Mike), Alicia, John, Kristin, David, Cody (Janey), Leah, Lennis (Kristi), Kelsey, Kara, Kaylee, Katrina (Justin), Anne, Emily, and Jack; great-grandchildren Jessica (Kota), Kennedy, Davianna, Bella, Cayden, Luke, Josh, Oliver, Nyla, Athena, Ethan, Ella, and Wren; great-great-grandchildren Tyler, Cooper, and Monte; siblings Jerry (Karen) Blanchard and Shirley Colgrove; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
