Mary Margaret (Schlicht) Andreen was born June 7, 1961 to Robert and Angelyn (Verschelde) Schlicht in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She was baptized on June 18, 1961 and confirmed June 17, 1971 at St. John Catholic Church in Morton. Mary graduated from Morton Public Schools and continued her education at Ridgewater College in Willmar. Mary’s ex-husband owned the Redwood Falls Pizza Hut and she worked there for many years. Mary also worked as a bartender at a bar in Seaforth, but her passion for 28 years was working at REM in Redwood Falls. On February 22, 2008, Mary was united in marriage to Richard Andreen at Dakota Ridge Golf Course in Morton. After moving to Madelia she worked at the local grocery store, but continued her work at REM in Redwood Falls. After she had to go on FMLA, Mary greatly missed her work at REM. She and Rick enjoyed camping and going golfing together. Mary loved the penny slot machines and going on fall road trips to view nature’s colors. You could often find her enjoying a Hallmark movie or one of her favorite TV series When Calls the Heart or Yellowstone. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed decorating and giving gifts to her family and friends. Mary especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband Richard Andreen; father Robert Schlicht; children: Roberta “Bobbie Jo” Bishop, Samantha Lee Bishop, Hope (Andy) Wallin and Jason (Angela) Andreen; grandchildren: Makaya, Alex (Johanna) & Nicholas Wallin, Aiden, Emily & Zacary Andreen, Marshall & Mathieu Shewl, and Aniyah & Taylee (Macht) Bishop; great grandchild Kolson due January 2025; nieces: Jamie & Jordan Olerud, Robin (Eric) Rasch and Brianna Fritze; great nieces and nephew: Abagail (Ash) Wright and Harley & Maddox Hecht; sisters: Barbara (Jerry) Olerud and Bonnie (Alan) Fritze; and many other relatives and friends.
