Mary Ann Woelfel, age 89, of Redwood Falls, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Redwood Falls. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St Patrick’s Cemetery, Birch Cooley township.  Arrangements are with the Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Services of Redwood Falls.

Mary Ann was born to Edward and Mary (Ahrendt) Weyer on January 31,1937, in Norfolk Township.  Mary Ann began her educational journey at District 36 country school in Norfolk Township and graduated from Olivia High School in 1954. Furthering her studies, she attended the University of Minnesota for one year. Over the years, she lived in several communities including Franklin, Wabasso, Walnut Grove, and Redwood Falls.  Mary Ann worked as a secretary, a café owner, a school bus driver, and an apartment manager. She served the City of Franklin as City Clerk and later as Mayor. She was a member of St Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Sheila (John) Robinson of Franklin, granddaughters Sarah (Brandon) Lechner and Kate (Colin) LeBrun and five great-grandchildren. Mary Ann also leaves behind her sisters, Elaine Mahoney and Lorraine Farmer, as well as her sister-in-law, Sharon Weyer, and many nieces and nephews.  She  was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon; her parents, and brothers: Francis, Louis, J. Mathias, Lawrence, and Nick Weyer.
