Lorraine Mae (Rigge) Rosa was born May 31, 1935, in Lucas Township, Lyon County, to Reuben and Lena (Jeseritz) Rigge. Lorraine grew up in the Cottonwood area, and she was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Lorraine graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1954 and worked at the Marshall Hospital for a short time. On September 25, 1955, Lorraine was united in marriage to Donald Rosa at English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. The couple farmed in Stanley Township for a few years, then moved into Cottonwood in 1965. Lorraine enjoyed raising their children and taking care of the home. She cooked, cleaned, kept a large garden, and butchered chickens while raising other animals as well. After her children graduated high school, she worked for a couple years as a clerk at DeSmet Grocery. When her husband Donald opened his own business, Lorraine helped keep the books.  Lorraine was never happier than when visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed the small-town gossip she gained from working outside the home in her younger years, as well as visiting with friends at the Cottonwood Senior Center and Senior Dining in her later years. She was never afraid to share her opinion. Lorraine excelled at fishing, but her favorite part of was the time spent with her husband and family. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and watching the Minnesota Wild and Twins. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After Lorraine and Donald retired, they took a once-in-a-lifetime, bucket list trip to Alaska, which she loved.

Lorraine died on Friday, December 17, 2021, at her residence in Cottonwood. She is survived by her children Jane Olson of Litchfield, Bradley (Marilyn) Rosa of Cottonwood, Marc (Kathy) Rosa of Atwater, and Dawn Cooley of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren Sara Olson, Rebecca (Kyle) Ball, Michael Olson, Tyson (Jessica) Rosa, Taryn (Matt) Tubbs, Kyle (Katie) Rosa, Jessic (Jason) Sem, Shawn Rosa, and Tanya (Chad) Janes; great-grandchildren Orion, Fitz, Odin, Hailey, Asher, Holden, Cam, Ella, Anna, Brandon, Nicole, Jamison, Brea, Alexa, and Sophia; brother Vernon (Anita) Rigge; bonus son Ken (Orlene) Eichhorn and his family; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
