Lorraine Harriet Rehn was born on a farm near Canby, MN on January 6, 1928 to parents Albert and Emma (Oien) Thorne. She attended public school in Canby where she graduated from Canby High School in the class of 1946. In her earlier working career, she was employed with Montgomery Ward and then later she worked as a bookkeeper at Miller Equipment in Canby for about 36 years. She was employed with Stanley Home Products, having many home parties around the area. She was also a ticket seller for various functions at the local high school.

Back in the day she enjoyed playing “matchmaker”, getting couples together. Her work in that area was very successful, resulting in two wonderful marriages. An enjoyable activity for Lorraine was getting together with “dear” cousins and friends for coffee and of course pie was always a favorite. It went so good with her coffee! She was known for her great carrot bars which everyone enjoyed. Lorraine always enjoyed sending uplifting greeting cards to people who just needed that extra “smile” through a card.

After Lorraine and Clarence’s marriage they resided in Dawson for many years until moving back to Canby to enjoy their retirement years. Her faith was a very special part of her life, she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior in August of 1959 and now she is a resident in her new home in heaven. What a blessing to be with her wonderful Lord and Savior!

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Lonnie (Tim) Saulsbury of Florence, AZ and special nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Emma Thorne; her beloved husband, Clarence in 2016; four siblings: Leona, Eavon, Isabel and Raymond and their spouses: Frank, Harold, Harlan and Ruth.
