Loretta Elizabeth Bruns was born on June 7, 1959, In Syracuse, New York. She was the daughter of Harry and Lydia (Herman) Hubler. Lori grew up in New York and was baptized as an infant in the Methodist faith. She attended school there as well, graduating with the Fowler High School class of 1977. Her free spirit then drew her out to California. After several years there she relocated to Arizona where she met Mr. Douglas Kushmore. That union provided her with two sons, Daniel and Michael. She was again united in marriage on September 8, 2007, to Todd Bruns in Renville, Minnesota. They settled in Olivia, Minnesota, to be closer to family. Todd passed away just four years later, and Lori then relocated to Marshall. She remained there until she needed more assistance with her daily care and went to Yankton, South Dakota, in recent months to be near her sister, Carol. Lori worked for many years as a caregiver, first in a group home setting and later privately. She enjoyed looking after others until medical reasons caused her retirement in 2015. Lori’s enjoyments in life included crafting, gardening, and time with the Red Hat Society.
