Lois Ann (Patten) Gullickson, age 90, formerly of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in St. Paul, surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Minneapolis Veterans Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Redwood Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Colon Cancer Coalition. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lois Ann (Patten) Gullickson was born on April 24, 1936, to Glenn and Helen (McKay) Patten in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Delhi Presbyterian Church and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1954. Lois continued her education at the University of Minnesota Agriculture School in St. Paul, where she earned an Associate Degree. Following her graduation, she worked for several years at Citizens State Bank in Redwood Falls. On December 14, 1963, Lois was united in marriage to Robert Gullickson at the Delhi Presbyterian Church. The couple later made their home in Sacred Heart, where they raised their children. Lois enjoyed following sports and faithfully attended the games and races in which her children participated. She also enjoyed canning, cooking, baking, gardening, fancywork, word-find puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. A 26-year survivor of colon cancer, Lois treasured the years she was given to be present for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Nana G. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and for her homemade baked beans.
Lois is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Robert; children: Dan (Janelle) Gullickson of New Prague, Debra (John) Campbell of Stillwater, and Dean (Kerry) Gullickson of Apple Valley; grandsons: Matthew (Amy) Gullickson, PhDs, Mitchell (Emma) Gullickson, MD, Alex Gullickson, Jake (Jeniffer) Campbell, and Eric Campbell; great-grandchildren: Griffin and Soren Gullickson; sister, Mary Tetrick of Lamberton; sister-in-law, Diane Patten of Clara City; and many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Helen Patten; and brothers, Marvin and Gerald Patten.
