The funeral service for Lois Fratzke, 92, of Cottonwood, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, and Monday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. A private interment will take place at a later date.
Lois Louann (Jeseritz) Fratzke was born on December 11, 1930, in Wood Lake, MN, to Rudy and Rose (Hempel) Jeseritz. She was baptized on January 18, 1931, and confirmed on May 21, 1944, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Lois attended country school and graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1948. On September 4, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harold Fratzke. The couple farmed and raised their family east of Cottonwood. In 1980, they built a home on the Cottonwood lake. The couple lived in an apartment in Cottonwood for five years and moved to Hill Street Place in Marshall in the spring of 2023. Lois worked for North Star Mutual for 26 years. She was an active member of English Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and participated with Ladies’ Aid. Lois enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to Bridge Club and Tops. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, playing golf and planting flowers. She and Harold enjoyed motorcycle trips including special trips to Glacier National Park and Montana. She was most passionate about time spent with her family.
Lois died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at her residence at Hill Street Place in Marshall. She is survived by her husband, Harold, of Cottonwood, children Steven Fratzke (Per) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Barry (Marsha) Fratzke of Coldspring, MN, Keith Fratzke (Joe) of Guerneville, CA, Kent (Lisa) Fratzke of Cottonwood; grandchildren Luke Fratzke, Amanda (Dusty) Harris, Tara (Eric) Thielbar, Dana (Andrew) Mack, Anthony (Kelsey) Fratzke; great-grandchildren Madalynn, Rogan, Grace, Paige, Aubrey, Mason, Marley, Archer; brother Rudy Jeseritz and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mavis, Jim and one in infancy.
