Lisa Marie Tholen was born on June 27th, 1963, the third daughter to Frank and Ann (Lesewski) Tholen. She was baptized, received her First Communion and was Confirmed at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe. Lisa attended the Ivanhoe School and graduated with the Class of 1981. She furthered her education at Stewart’s School of Hair in Sioux Falls, SD beginning her successful business in hair. Lisa worked in Brookings, SD before moving to Madison, WI where she managed and worked in several salons. This career was cut short when her MS no longer allowed her the precision she needed to be her best.  Lisa was fiercely independent and refused to allow MS to define her. She continued to live independently and direct her cares with the assistance of Wild Rose Home Care Staff until her death. Lisa passed away on January 12, 2023 following a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 16 days.

Lisa will be forever loved and live on in the hearts of her two sisters, Brenda (John) Jerzak and Pam (Leonard) VanOverbeke. She will always be remembered and loved as “The Fun Aunt” to Sarah (Jade) Barstad, Mathew Jerzak, Justin (Amanda) Jerzak, Heather (Adam) Gillund and Ryan (Alexandra) VanOverbeke. Lisa cherished many friendships over the years, especially those of Pamela Pippern, Tony Citterman and Ursula Johnson.  Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents and all her aunts and uncles.

The family wishes to thank Wild Rose Home Care of Marshall, MN for the wonderful care she received allowing her the ability to live independently in her own home.
