Kevin Allan Skorczewski, age 62, of Shakopee, MN, died peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, 4 – 7 PM at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 West Third Street, Chaska. Another visitation will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, 11:00 – 1:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 1:00 PM at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN. Burial will be in the Singsaas Cemetery, rural Hendricks, MN.
Kevin was born on July 4, 1960 in Canby, MN, to Donald and Cecilia (Kubiszewski) Skorczewski, one of 6 children. He attended Ivanhoe High School before graduated from Shakopee High School. He attended Canby Vo-Tech in Canby, MN, and received a degree in welding. He was a welder for B.F.I. which is now Republic Services for over 30 years. He loved hunting, horseshoes, cards (especially pepper), cooking his mint brownies, and spending time on his land near Canby. On June 19, 2021 he married Linette Benz in Marshall, MN.
Survivors include his wife, Linette; stepson, Keith Nelson of Shakopee; siblings, David (Jackie) Skorczewski of Ivanhoe, Linda Skorczewski of Jordan, Kathy Skorczewski of Jordan, Diane (Carey) Kowalski of Shakopee, Steve Skorczewski of Jordan; mother-in-law, Nina Benz of Hendricks; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jeanie Ochsendorf and Dan of Watertown, SD, Bruce Jeppeson of Hendricks, Linda (Ken) Vlaminck of Brookings, SD, Marie (Gary) Vlaminck of Marshall, Julie (Chuck) Nygaard of Hendricks; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Cecilia, father-in-law, Kenny Benz, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Avis Jeppeson, Cindy and Ron Hovitekj, Lee Benz and Loren Ochsendorf.
