Kevin “Pete” Vick, age 64, of Astoria, SD passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be Friday, June 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN. Private family burial will be at Bethany Cemetery in Astoria, SD. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel of Hendricks, MN is entrusted with arrangements.
Kevin Darwin Vick was born on March 3, 1960 in Hendricks, MN to Darwin and Alice (Odden) Vick. He was raised in Astoria, SD with his ten siblings. Kevin worked various jobs throughout his life including as a baker, bar and restaurant owner, truck driver, painter, and grain bin builder. He was truly a jack of all trades. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, coin collecting, drawing, fishing, riding horses, and playing guitar. He also enjoyed looking for deer sheds while out walking. While Kevin had many activities that brought him joy in life, his favorite was spending time with friends and family.
Kevin is survived by his two daughters, Amanda Cone and Nicole Peterson; mother, Alice Vick; four grandchildren: Draven Peterson, Duncan Peterson, Piper Peterson, and Lexi Peterson; siblings: Lynn (Diana) Vick, Debra (Terry) Auck, Cynthia Graslie, Charles Vick, Lonnie Vick, LaVonne (Joel) Reppe, Melissa (Brian) Skorczewski, Kari (Alec) Johnson, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Darwin A. Vick; sister, Lori Wagner; brother, Bradley Vick, nephew, Dillon Sommervold, aunts and uncles.
