Judith Ann Helmbolt was born on May 3, 1947, in Gary, South Dakota, to parents Lloyd and Ileene (Wurtz) Helmbolt. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Judi attended school in Gary, graduating from high school with the class of 1965.  After graduation she moved to Marshall. In 1967 she married had 2 daughters and later divorced. She later met her life-long partner, Wayne Kor.  While in high school she would commute with her mom to work at Swift’s Turkey Plant in Marshall on the weekends. Where she continued to work for a number of years.  Over the next several years she had worked at PPG, Heartland and Hy-Vee until her retirement about 5 years ago due to health issues.  Her enjoyments in life were spending time with family and friends, dancing with Wayne, listening to country music, camping, gardening, canning, baking, Jigsaw puzzles, puzzle books and playing bingo every Friday night at the Eagles.  She always looked forward to the holidays (Christmas was her favorite). In November she would start the planning and gathering of ingredients needed to bake her homemade holiday goodies to put into gift packages to give to family and friends to enjoy every year on Thanksgiving and Christmas until her health issues prevented her to continue her tradition. Her family and friends always looked forward to those goodies.
