Janette Lee DeYonge, age 67, of Adrian MI, formerly of Tracy MN, passed away peacefully October 7, 2019 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo as a result from an accident at home. Memorial service will be 11am Tuesday, October 22 at the Tracy United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Janette Lee DeYonge was born November 3, 1951 to Edgar and Janet (Baack) DeYonge in Worthington. Janette graduated from Tracy High School in 1970 and attended college at SMSU in Marshall. She worked for Schwan’s in Marshall for nine years. Janette later joined the United States Navy in 1985 and served as a Yeoman First Class Petty Officer. During her years of service, she toured in England, Spain, and Guam. Janette was very proud to serve her country. She spent 20 years in the service and was honorably discharged in 2005. Janette retired in Michigan. During her time in Michigan she worked as Administrative Assistant Sr. of Healthcare for Michigan Medicine at the University of Michigan. Janette was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adrian, MI. She enjoyed volunteering at church, playing tennis and softball, knitting, crocheting and cross stitching. Janette was an avid reader and would read almost any kind of book. She especially loved spending time with her sisters, nieces, nephews and her dog Gus. Janette will be deeply missed.
Janette is survived by her sisters Marilyn (Todd) Gregg of Marshall, Marian (Dave) Brady of Pipestone; brother Robert DeYonge; nephews Michael Gorter of Sioux Falls, SD and Nick McNab of Sioux Falls, SD; niece Kelsie (Brady) Kruger of Sioux Falls, SD; great niece Arianna Gorter; and Irene DeYonge. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Luann, and brother-in-law Steve McNab.
