A memorial service for Janet (Hamerlinck) Collins, 74, of Santiago, formerly of Minneota, will be on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 408 N Washington St.  A celebration of life for Janet will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Bailey Ray’s in Santiago.

Janet Patricia Hamerlinck was born on June 7, 1945, in Marshall, to Alphonse and Elsie (Geurs) Hamerlinck. She grew up in Madison and Minneota. Janet loved the outdoors and all animals, but she had a special place in her heart for dogs. Janet especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, boating, and traveling. Janet was always preparing and sending care packages to family and friends. She also loved being a member of the Santiago Lions Club.

Janet died on Friday, October 18, 2019, in Coon Rapids. She is survived by her son Matthew (Kimberly) Weber; daughter Kelly (Leslie) Weber; grandchildren Christopher (Megan) Weber, Madeline Dunaisky, Brianna (Jesse) Bales, and Nathan Harwood; great-granddaughter Avery Weber; sisters Jane Louwagie, Jean (Jim) Wambeke, Joyce Downing, and Judy (Tom) Hamerlinck; brother-in-law Cletus (Lorriane) Lanners; her beloved dog Molly; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents Alphonse and Elsie Hamerlinck, son Jeffrey Weber, sister Joanne Lanners, nieces Joyel Downing and Abby Satterfield, and brothers-in-law Ernie Louwagie and Fuzzy Downing.
