Ilene Lundberg, age 93, of Ivanhoe, MN passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Hendricks Hospital. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Bethany-Elim Lutheran Church in Ivanhoe, MN. Burial will be in the East Elim Cemetery, rural Ivanhoe, MN. Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ilene L. Lundberg was born November 18, 1926 to Richard and Inez (Herschberger) Johnson on the family farm in Ash Lake Township, near Ivanhoe, MN. She was raised there and received her education. Ilene then worked at the bank a few years. She was united in marriage to Charles Valgean Lundberg on September 2, 1947 and were blessed with six children: Darwin, Darrel, Dale, Duane, Denis and Davey. The couple lived and farmed in Ash Lake Township until their retirement in 2002. They remained on the farm in their retirement years where Ilene enjoyed quilting. Valgean passed away on March 14, 2018. Ilene was still able to continue living on the farm until she passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Hendricks Hospital, Hendricks, MN at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Ilene was a member of Bethany-Elim Lutheran Church in Ivanhoe, MN.
She is survived by her six sons: Darwin Lundberg, Darrel (Cheryl) Lundberg, Dale Lundberg, Duane (Sharon) Lundberg, Denis Lundberg and Davey (Christy) Lundberg; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one sister Lois Winter; and many nieces and nephews. Ilene was preceded in death by her husband Valgean; one brother Raymond Johnson; one sister Rhoda Larson; and two daughters-in-law, Cheryl Lundberg and Charmaine Lundberg.
