Herlinda Cardiel, age 66, of Cottonwood, Minnesota, died on Monday, July 12, 2021, at CentraCare St. Benedict’s Community in St. Cloud, Minnesota. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.   Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

 Herlinda Limones was born on May 10, 1955, in Cuencame Durango, Mexico.  She was the daughter of Jose Limones Avalos and Rufina Lopez. She attended school in Mexico.  In 1973, Herlinda was united in marriage to Manuel Cardiel in Monterrrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Together, the couple moved from Mexico to Texas and New Mexico before making their home in the Cottonwood area in July of 1997, where they have resided for the past 24 years. In Herlinda and Manuel’s 48 years of marriage, she was a homemaker and loving mother to the couple’s 5 children. Herlinda’s family was tight-knit, and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.  Herlinda was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Pentecostal faith. Herlinda’s faith was very important to her. Herlinda could often be found listening to Christian music and reading the Bible. When Herlinda wasn’t spending her time with her loving family or reading the bible, she enjoyed tending to her large array of plants in her garden. She also enjoyed spending her free time crocheting and sewing.

Herlinda died on Monday, July 12, 2021, at CentraCare St. Benedict’s Community in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  She reached the age of 66 years, 2 months, and 3 days.  Blessed be her memory.

Herlinda is survived by her husband, Manuel Cardiel of Cottonwood; three children, Abigail Maria Antonia Euceda (Jorge Adalberto Euceda) of Worthington, Sandra Isabel Cruz Cervantes (Geronimo Cruz) of Burnsville, Claudia Adrianna Rodriguez (Carlos Roberto Rodriguez) of Worthington; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 7 siblings; many nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents; two siblings; and 2 children, Guadalupe Cardiel and Manuela Cardiel.
