A public walk-through visitation for Glenn Dietz, 77, of Clarkfield, will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at the Vesta Cemetery. Mask and social distancing requirements will be observed at all indoor services.

Glenn Oliver Dietz was born on February 19, 1944 to Paul and Gertie (Masching) Dietz in Vesta, MN.  He was baptized on April 2, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Parsonage in Vesta, MN by Reverend Karl Brickman. Glenn was confirmed on May 25, 1958 also at St. John’s Lutheran Church by Reverend Walter O. Nommenson. He attended school in Vesta, MN and Redwood Falls, MN.  Glenn enlisted in the United States Army on February 10, 1964. He took basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Then was sent to Pinder Barracks, Zirndorf Germany, near Nurmberg where he stayed until January 1967 when he was honorably discharged. Glenn loved Germany. He was a member of the Edward Gill American Legion Post #204 of Echo since 1967 and also a member of the National Guard in Marshall, MN. He was a truck driver most of his life. Glenn enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and movies along with rodeos and threshing shows.

Glenn Dietz died Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield, MN. He is survived by his sister Darlene (Don) Williams of Lynd, MN; nephews, Dallas, Daniel (Shantel) and their children along with special friends Stan and Gary Schmidt.  He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Gertie Dietz.
