Gene Limberg, age 76, of Gary South Dakota passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at his residence in Gary, SD. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Antelope Valley Reformed Church, Revillo, SD. Burial will be at Augusta Cemetery, Marietta, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday. The Houseman Funeral Home of Clear Lake is entrusted with the arrangements.

Gene Edward Limberg was born May 11, 1943 on the family farm in Lowe Township, Deuel County, SD to John and Anna (Knock) Limberg. He was raised near Revillo, SD where he received his education. He furthered his education at a Technical School in Fargo, ND. Following his completion of his education, Gene worked as a mechanic in Carrington, ND before returning to Revillo where he operated a service station. He then began farming in the Revillo area.

Gene was united in marriage to Linda Peterson on September 25, 1971 at Augusta Lutheran Church in Marietta, MN. The couple continued to live and farm near Revillo until 1988 when they moved to Sioux Falls, SD. In 2001, they moved to Renner, SD where he enjoyed his retirement years before moving to Gary, SD in 2017. Gene passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at his home in Gary at the age of 76 years and one month surrounded by his wife Linda, family and friends.

Gene was a member of Antelope Valley Reformed Church. He enjoyed being around people telling everyone stories and jokes, fishing and tinkering in the shop and around the farm. Gene most of all enjoyed his time with his wife, Linda.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Limberg, Gary, SD; sisters: Joyce (Maynard) Peterson, Bailey, CO, Darlene (James) Brinkhuis, Little Rock, IA and Donna (James) Collins, Revillo, SD; sister-in-law, Dorothy Olson; and many nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leroy Limberg; sister-in-law, Verna Volk; brothers-in-law: Warner Volk and Chancey Olson; and a niece, Tammy.
