Some registered dieticians recently broke down a list of foods that may be able to help when you’re feeling stressed.  And one of them is particularly timely . . .

1.  Pumpkin seeds.  They’re high in magnesium, which may help regulate neurotransmitters in the brain that help calm you down.

2.  Tuna and salmon.  Tuna is high in vitamins B6 and B12, both of which can play important roles in regulating our mood.  And salmon is high in omega-3s, which have also been shown to reduce inflammation and increase serotonin.

3.  Orange juice.  OJ is high in nutrients like vitamin C and may help with chronic inflammation.  But you’ll want to find 100% orange juice with no added sugar.

There are also a couple things you should try to stay away from when you’re feeling stressed:  Cookies, cakes, ice cream, and sugary cereals can all increase feelings of stress and anxiety . . . and so can CAFFEINE.
