Renville County, MN – The Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report on Saturday at approximately 8:41 p.m. from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office regarding a single-vehicle rollover on Meeker-Renville Line Rd & Meeker Co Rd 1, approximately 11 miles north of Buffalo Lake, MN, in Boon Lake Township. The incident involved a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Donald Deleeuw, 89, from Cosmos, MN. Deleeuw failed to stop at the intersection, causing the vehicle to enter the ditch and overturn.
Donald Deleeuw was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, 90-year-old Burnice Deleeuw of Cosmos, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Hutchinson Health Hospital.
Assistance was provided by the Cosmos Fire Department, Cosmos Ambulance Service, Allina Ambulance, Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, and the State Patrol. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, is currently investigating the crash.
