Spring is here and so is the cold and flu season. Community Blood Bank has been struggling to maintain a strong blood supply due to so many people that are experiencing either colds or flus and just not feeling well.  It is ever more important for those that are well and health to consider donating blood and provide hope to local patients in need. Among those who benefit from donated blood are trauma, burn victims, cancer patients, and persons undergoing surgery. You can donate blood every 56 days and provide hope to local patients in need. The best news is that your donation will stay local for local use.

R-T-R High School will host a community blood drive Tuesday, April 2 between 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. To schedule your donation log onto cbblifeblood.org, select “events”, and “April 2” or call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222. All those donating receive a free $10 Subway gift card as a thank you gift. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating.
