1st annual Montevideo Fiesta of Marching Bands

The Montevideo Band Program and the Fiesta Days Board are proud to announce the 1st annual Montevideo Fiesta of Marching Bands. The band festival will be Wednesday, June 16th at 6:00pm. This brand new event to Fiesta Days will showcase seven high school marching bands from around the state! Each band will perform their show multiple times during the mile long route followed by an awards ceremony at the high school football field.

The Montevideo Fiesta of Marching Bands is a marching band only band festival taking place Wednesday, June16th at 6:00pm. The band festival is a separate event from the Grande Day parade which will take place on Saturday, June 19th. The seven bands performing at this year’s band festival are Benson, Dassel-Cokato, KMS, The Patriots (St. Anthony), Litchfield, Mankato, and Waconia.

Competing bands will start the route at the corner of William Ave. and S. 12th St. marching north then turning east onto Sheridan Ave. and finishing heading south on S. 17th St. concluding at the high school. Band will be performing in the suggested “performance areas” marked on the parade route map. The third performance area will be the judged black. This is where all bands perform for a 4 panel judge to receive feedback.

All of the students participating in the band festival have worked extremely hard to put together an awesome show. All spectators are asked to stay off of the streets and out of the judging zone while the bands are marching. The best way to show your support for all the bands is by cheering and encouraging everyone from the sides of the street. After all bands have finished marching they will gather in the football stadium for the awards ceremony. All spectators are welcome to watch the awards ceremony and support all the bands!
